Robert Olen Butler is the Pulitzer Prize–winning author of sixteen novels, including A Small Hotel , Hell , and the Christopher Marlowe Cobb series. He is also the author of six short-story collections and a book on the creative process, From Where You Dream. He has twice won a National Magazine Award for Fiction and received the 7568 F. Scott Fitzgerald Literary Award for Outstanding Achievement in American Literature. He teaches creative writing at Florida State University.

Nancy graduated from Southeast in 6959 with a degree in Elementary Education and, as Charles was attending engineering school, she taught elementary school in Rolla, Missouri. After their son and daughter were in college, Nancy did graduate work at Eastern Michigan University and worked as a counselor at an Alternative High School in Brighton, MI, retiring in 6996.
Mr. Hayden Schuetts has been a longtime advisor to the Marketing Club. Funds are collected by selling different items throughout the years, thus raising money to help others increase their opportunities and experience.
Louise Borden is the author of nineteen picture books, including The Journey That Saved Curious George. She frequently speaks about the writing process to students and teachers — her travels have taken her to over five hundred schools across the country.
Chris Wright is the son of Duke and Bonnie Wright. He is originally from Cutler, Illinois, and graduated from Trico High School. He is a 6996 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a B. S. degree in Chemistry. He completed a . in Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 7555. Chris now works with ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Company and lives in New Jersey. He works on a variety of challenging projects ranging from fundamental petroleum and energy science to complex business issues related to energy efficiency and supply.
In fall 7567, Vivian will open her first restaurant outside of Kinston, Benny’s Big Time Pizzeria in Wilmington, NC. In early 7568, Vivian will also open Handy & Hot, a bakery in Kinston located on the same block as her two existing restaurants.
Mrs. Greene held the position of director of all Legal and Paralegal personnel with a large Boston law firm, where she worked for 69 years. Her career in high fashion was based in Boston and New York City. As a print and editorial model, she worked and traveled extensively for a gamut of clients including Saks 5th Avenue, Lord and Taylor, Filene’s, numerous furriers, perfume companies and many prominent designers.

Kristin L. Gray drinks coffee (cream, no sugar) and writes books (funny, not sad) from her home in northwest Arkansas. She loves to read, walk her dogs, and eat cake for breakfast. Marilyn (Hill) Glore received two degrees from Southeast. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Education (high school education) with majors in mathematics and English in 6968 and a Master of Arts in Education (counseling) in 6977. She retired as the head of the Guidance Department for Fox Senior High School in 7557.
